Cool Virtual USS Enterprise tour.

hey guys.

mark paul "eMPee" here from the philippines.

i found this cool new Star Trek viral site wherein you could have an external virtual tour of the new USS ENTERPRISE, check it out!!

Experience The Enterprise.

http://www.experience-the-enterprise.com/

note* according to the site, the overall length of the
new Enterprise is 2500 feet! which, if converted to meters,
is 762 meters long!!! that means, the new ship is longer
* and possibly bigger than a Galaxy class starship.

waaaaahh!!!! so cool!!!!!! that could also be the reason why
the ship interiors in the new movie appears to be bigger.

WTF no way. the Enterprise is only 285 meters long. take a look at the "Space Jump" scene on star trek's website and you will see the difference between nero's ship that i think is 800 meters long to Enterprise 285 meters long.

The Enterprise is definitely much larger in this timeline than in the prime timeline. You can see that much just from the tiny people scurrying about it in the teaser trailer.

There's a welder doing work in the final upwards-panning shot from the teaser. From that, you can tell that the saucer is deeper than about ten to fifteen people. There's contention about whether the original TOS E had one or barely two decks stretched across the entire area of the saucer, as seen here -

With each deck very generously being assumed as three people high, the saucer's still only six people tall. I really really think the new Enterprise is bigger. :P

Edit: I will say though that it doesn't strike me as Galaxy-class big. :/ Just regular big...

Edit 2: oh god i need a life

The decks should be no more that 3.8 meters high.

Indeed... according to the 3.8m deck height figure (that I agree with), the statistics that have been quoted in this thread give the new Enterprise 50 decks.

50 decks..? That's taller than a Galaxy... I cannot believe these Enterprise statistics, I'm afraid. I definitely think the ship is bigger, but... not bigger-than-the-most-obscenely-big-ship-ever bigger...

Edit: oh whoops the size of the ship isn't actually the topic! Virtual Enterprise, right. I really wish I had a webcam, it looks awesome.

Darn! My computer at work sucks and it kind of hangs at 25% loaded. I supposed I could wait it out and see if it finishes loading. I like that it's a bigger ship. It's a new timeline, I'll go along with it.
