Well, that's a cool thing to learn! I always loved Pine, in CHiPs and in the many other roles he filled on television of the time. Thanks for sharing this info.

Chris Pine's father Robert also played in CHiP's with another Star Trek Alumni...Michael Dorn who played a re-occuring patrol officer.

No joke - but what I remember are the opening credits with the huge Californian Highway shots, and taking my hundreds of toy cars and replicating it on the living room floor (I was like 5 at the time it was on here!).

So I was too busy carrying out car chases to watch it!

I've known about this for quite a while. When I learned he landed the role for Kirk I went to check his bio and filmography on IMDB to see what he had done before he was hired for Star Trek and that's when I found out. I wasn't surprised to learn that he was Robert Pine's son because you can clearly see the physical resemblance.
