Okay, I'll take back that last part. I didn't like the way he was acting during the Kobiyashi Maru test. For some reason I had always figured he had altered the parameters of the test in a more subtle way, making it possible to win but NOT blatantly making it a super duper cheat "one shot one kill" version, then acting like there was no care in the world. I would have been impressed with a seemingly hard fought win, which in itself is supposed to be impossible, with a bunch of open mouthed "jaw dropped" spectators. Then cut to another scene and they are saying "we found the virus you planted"... or whatever.

edit: the apple eating thing was the "punk" aspect I was referring to.

But essentially that is Kirk - even in TOS he wasn't subtle, and he went for the simplest solution. The quick cheat. He maybe dressed it up to himself in later years but it basically was always pure and simple cheating.

Perhaps I missed your point, but I believe I will NOT be alone. These are the aspects of your post I think you should refrain from repeating. It usually leads to nasty arguments and then the MODS get involved. I didn't mean to come across as mean spirited, just giving advice.

His post was NOT directed toward me. He did clearly make some statements questioning someone's fan status.

There are no words to describe it. All I can say is it was incredible. The Enterprise was massive and believable. I was emotional so many different times I lost count. The whole theater clapped their hands at the end and that is something I have never witnessed in my 40 something years at the movies. Going back for a second showing at 7:25. Pike out!!!
