Was it me or did they throw props at Star Trek ENTERPRISE?

I didn't really watch Enterprise, it came at a time of my life when I was bouncing from one city to another in airplanes most of the time. But I don't remember them having a mascot.

The movie was alright. It WAS exiting and looked and sounded great, but it wasn't Trek. Overall I was disappointed. The simple answer is "NO". I didn't like this fake version of Trek with no "soul".

I'm shocked. I guess you're not the All THINGS Trek sort then.
What did you think about the characters?

But, you've got to admit - the opening scene had all the "soul" of the original Star Trek. The opening scene had enough of the nobility, the self-sacrifice, the honor and dignity of the original Star Trek to bring a tear to your eye. It really felt like, for only those first ten(?) minutes, Abrams must have been channeling Roddenberry. Yes, I was dissapointed in the rest of the movie. But you've gotta give it up for that opening scene! |

Well, I went to the movie totally spoiler free & determined to keep an open mind. When TNG first aired, I was closed-minded & as a result, it ruined the show for me at first - I watched Encounter at Farpoint & half of The Naked Time, then gave up on it until I happened to catch a glimpse of something that intrigued me near the end of the year as I was channel-surfing. I was determined not to let that happen this time.
I'm *so* glad I was! At first I was worried it was going to be somewhat predictable because of the very nature of it being a prequel, but I soon realized that the whole premise of the movie kept that from happening. And I LOVED it! I have to say it's my favorite of all the movies (not necessarily of the series work, but the movies themselves.) My only gripes were the accents & the fact that the bridge was fairly unrecognizable (I would have preferred a spruced-up TOS bridge to something totally new) **shrug** but I can live with both of those things. |
