Every vehicle I've own has been a 'she' so I would refer to starships as
'she' as well. They're sexy, just like us girls.

I remember that in the Undiscovered Country, Chang referred to the Enterprise as she. "What's she doing?" I am also pretty sure that Kirk has referred to the Enterprise as a she as well. I would personally call the ship a "she" as well, but probably only because I am a guy. I'm not really sure.

There are several linguistic etymologies to the gender rule of vessels and vehicles, but it also goes back to the Chivalric tradition of treating a ship like a lady. "...and she'll always bring ya home..." -McCoy

Here we are mostly referring to Federation ships (I assume...) but what about ships from other species? I don't know about the rest of you but I'll never speak of a Borg cube as a "she". While it's a fascinating piece of technology, there's absolutely nothing sexy, curvy or feminine about it.
