Default Howard Stern Question concerning Abrams on his show.

Unfortunatly I have spent all night looking for this reference. But I cannot find it so instead of a post being about JJ Abrams on Howard Stern, I will ask, did anyone else see this clip? And did anyone else hear JJ Abrams say that he feels X-men will do better than Star Trek?

My only source comes from this URL. I have been trying to find more data but I have not been successful.

Stern
Thank you.

Hang on, I reread the summary again: JJ is having some laughs with Stern about his expectations for TREK (comedy on Stern's show... go figure).

This should be your clue, given how only tidbits of the conversation are being remembered in the forum post:

Quote:
Then, again Howard says that he sounds like he is "downplaying" this and JJ answers, "This is the truth."
If Abrams "would be comfortable" with TREK earning $50 mil on its opening weekend, and it earns $110M, he can only win. But if he states it will earn $125M opening and it only earns $110M, the movie somehow just "underpeformed" -- even though that $110M is 30M more than WOLVERINE sold.

Put it this way: if Abrams were actually concerned, he wouldn't be joking about box office performance like this. Comfort is a sign of confidence.

I think instead of worrying about whether Trek will beat Wolverine or not, the hope should simply be that Star Trek earns good blockbuster earnings to warrant a sequel....and to secure its place as a movie everyone can enjoy...repeatedly...like any good blockbuster film.

Howard is certainly an acquired taste but he has his moments.
