I also, chose McCoy. Growing up, I had the biggest crush on him and as
most girls did at that age, I would kiss his picture before I went to bed.

I would have to say Scotty...theres just something about him yelling "I'm giving it all she's got, captain!" that just is amazing. Without the Miracle Worker, I doubt there would be any stories about Kirk, Spock and McCoy.

Actually, my favourite TOS character, albeit not a main one, is Sarek. I thought he exuded authority and dignity every time he was on screen.

Oh Sarek...

he's so awesome... and sexy--in the movies, not so much in the show. I just spent all of "Journey to Babel" going, "AWWWW!!!! SPOCK!!!!"

lol

Yes, that was a hard episode to watch, actually. It was really sad to see him lose his emotions like that in Sarek as well as Unification, Pt 1.

My favourite character is Scotty. Dependable without being flashy, I always felt that he was the most down to earth character. The character of Scotty seems to be held in a particular type of affection. Especially here in Scotland! That has to go down to James Doohan's wonderful portrayal, although with slightly inaccurate accent.

The fact that Scotty is held in high regard in Scotland is a testament to Doohan's enthusiasm in the role as we Scots are known to be protective of how our accents are portrayed! For an example, stand up Mr Mel Gibson for Braveheart (oh sorry, you're already standing up, Mel!)

Here's hoping that Simon Pegg can bring a similar enthusiasm and honest hard work to the role although there will only ever be one Jimmy Doohan!

I am dying to see those episodes!!! I know what happens, though, and poor Sarek! To have his emotions on display like that... it's heartbreaking.

I loved Sarek. He had an incredible presence and charisma. Like father, like son.
