I've seen the thing like ten times now and I still don't get it!I'm a fairly smart guy(I think)but I just can't figure out why Vosk would work with the Nazis, why he would be sent to make them rulers of the earth, and most importantly, what the heck happened with the Temporal Cold War?If it never happened, does that mean the events that happened to the Enterprise crew never happened?But-but they remember it,don't they?Arrrrghhh!Headache!

I thought that the Temporal cold war simply never got mentioned again. Once the first episode had been concluded it ceased.
Maybe the memory alpha background info for the episode would shed some light on it.

Because the Vosk needed a time period where they could hide (hence somewhere in the distant past) but also one where they could find a strong ally and the technolgoy allows them build their temporal vortex/machine/what-ever-it-was-called (hence not too far in the past) ... or because nazis are just cool as villains.

Well, they needed an ally which would accept and cooperate in exchange for technology. They knew Germany was eager to get technology to win the war, and the Germans were capable of understanding and giving materials they needed. So it is the perfect ally in the perfect time.

I'm actually working on a temporal cold war FAQ, which tries to explain all the unanswered questions about the TCW extrapolating only from what was seen on screen. Hopefully it will explain all this.
I'll let people know here when it's done! LJ. |
