It depends on how the writers have created him. If he's created as a part tragic figure then perhaps, if he's depicted as just purely bad then probably not.
Going on the clues from the Countdown and what sparks his campaign, then it suggests they want to give him a more complex set of reasons. Depends whether they achieve that or not.

you know what, i do feel bad for nero because of his loss of his wife, unborn son. but to shed a tear of what nero has become HELL NO. i will be claping when the enterprise defeats nero.

I won't shed any tears for Nero. Regardless of his motivations, what he's doing isn't justifiable in any way.

I will sympathize with him, if you read Countdown series, Nero was a good man.
What made him irrational is that the Romulan senates ignored his warnings, when the Hobus star turning into a supernova. It was too late to save his homeworld and his people. The Vulcans did not help out neither. As for Nero, i wouldn't shed a tear for him, but i feel bad for him in some ways. |
