I don't feel they were ruined in/by Voyager. They were made less ominous due to fairly constant exposure and Voyager surviving the contact so much. When we first met the Borg in TNG, now that was a menacing enemy.

It was assumed that when Federation technology progressed to combat the borg that the Borg tech would progress as well...That's what happened in First Contact that killed the borg...apparently they lost there ability to adapt...

i dont think they ruined the borg i feel that sence they were thrown passed borg space by kes the real danger of assimilation was avoided they incountered a borg ship every other episode but it was were the series was going the borg is what kept me interested in voyager i hated the kazon. some people say that voyager could have been destroyed soo easaly like the ships on first contact did but you forget they had 7 of 9 with all her experience the E.M.H that was super smart and finally they snuck around and wernt like in direct combat with them all the time, and as far as the storyline goes it was the only way for them to get home without Q

We just learned more about them
Voyager was in Borg's Quadrant for Spock's sake!
Of course they would meet them more then they did in previous series.
Were Klingons or Romulans overdone, not even mentioning Vulcans?

That would be the logical inference.

I think First Contact ruined the Borg. I think the Borg Queen was the worst move the writers could have made. The hive mind was the real "evil" and made the Borg more ominious. Once I got over that and accepted the Borg had a queen I figured the Borg would all end up like the "Lore" borg without the hive mind since the queen was killed in First Contact. Then guess what? Another queen was "spawned". i hated that whole idea.

Like I said, the Borg became less unstoppable in Voyager and First Contact.

That came from more and more exposure to the Borg and learning their ways better.

Of course, the writers kept changing their background, and motivations alot also.

But I agree with you in VOY we would see alot of the Borgm, because it was their home base.

also the fact the Kazon were silly advesaries.
