..Scott Bakula never got to say "Oh boy...." in any episode.
![]() Was watching Chuck from last week on HULU and he says it once. That's when it struck me. He can say that as a guest star but never in a show he headlined? That's most certainly the biggest screw-up by the writers and creators of Enterprise, but of course it's only after TATV. That is a whole another story! Star Trek is coming out nearly exactly 4 years after ENTERPRISE left our screens. May 8th, 2009 from May 13th, 2005. I still have a bit of sadness that it was canceled way before its time. Oh well, we still have more Star Trek on our way! ![]() |

"Oh boy..." just a nice way of saying "Oh sh*t" and would work just as well with the crew. Nothing is supposed to phase the almighty captain who knows all... even if hes full of it. It would be a nice tongue in cheek moment but it would have been better for one of the crew to say it and Archer throwing him a stare. In-joke but still within bounds. You might as well have Shatner do the Kirk halting voice in Boston Legal. I dont watch the show so maybe he has.

I was a HUGE Quantum Leap fan...I still have my DVR set up to record it if it ever repeats! I never thought about the "Oh Boy" thing!
That would be a great question to ask him if you ever went to a convention....I'm betting there's a reason behind it (Like the fact that QL and Chuck are both NBC shows, and ENT wasn't, so maybe they had to pay for the right to use it or something...or maybe Bakula just said no!).

Maybe they thought it would be a gag too far - Archer never really struck me as the 'Oh, Boy' kind anyway.

It was his signature phrase from 'Quantum Leap' - every time Sam leaped at the end of an episode it virtually always ended with him saying 'Oh, Boy' when he saw whose's body he had leaped into or the situation he had arrived in.

He certainly is a character...and he was certainly good playing himself. I'd pay to see it everytime.
