Here's a good idea. Why dont those who are not interested in this Shat debate topic skip over it and post something on a topic which you do like. Im getting pretty browned off with those who come on here and criticise those who do want to genuinely talk about the subject. Just ignore the thread and dont get involved...its as simple as that.

No Shatner as James T Kirk. Could possibly play Kirk's grandfather, uncle, but that's all.

It's been talked about. To death. And then some. Search the threads...this debate has been going on since the board started.

It's a "discussion" board...not a "discuss only on topics with which you agree" board. That means there's bound to be disagreement and, when there is, it's OK.

This Shat/No Shat discussion is the proverbial dead horse and its been beaten mercilessly already.

Please, no more Shatner! He was fine for the role he was in but that day has past. The way to revitalizing Trek is not through becoming Shat groupies. (not saying anyone here is, just that that's what it looks like to those who are not currently trekies.) It only serves to push people away.

"James T. Kirk was a Great man, but that was another time"
William Shatter is a Great man, but this is not his time.

p.s. I would watch anything that the Shat is in, as long as it's relevant to his age, character, and Personality.

The point is that this well-worn topic did not need ANOTHER new thread devoted to it. There are plenty of dogeared topics on this same subject which the original poster could have joined for discussion.

I'm guessing our fine 'Shirts will merge this sooner or later, accordingly.

You make a good point. But, nobody's talking about anyone telling anyone else to skip a thread they disagree with. Disagree all you want. Post your reasons for disagreement in the thread. That's what a discussion forum is for. However, what's the point to come into a thread only to tell people not to talk about it? That doesn't contribute to the discussion in any way at all. When you do that, you're basically injecting yourself into someone else's conversation and telling them to shut up. That's pretty rude.
