Angry, complaining fans who don't like the ship and demand that canon be observed, Original actors dealing with being replaced except for one, who still gets to be part of the "new vision" playing the old version of his younger self, aliens who don't understand the change in the "historical documents", and so on and so forth. I see a perfect oppourtunity for a
"Galaxy Quest 2" here. What do you think?

Galaxy Quest was an awesome movie. And it actually had more heart, character development, and was more entertaining than some of the actual Star Trek movies, which says something about it.
I also very much like the NSEA Protector as a starship in it's own right. Since the end of Galaxy Quest ended with the beginning of a new series, I'm guessing they could start off there. But I dunno. The original was so good, I don't think they could do it again without copying from the story of the original. It covered so much. The canon wars, the obcessive fans, the underappreciated actors, the over the top and self absorbed main character, it was...the perfect Star Trek parody. I honestly think it can't be beaten. |

I though thats what Abrams was doing, Lampooning Star Trek.Either that or turning the series into Star Wars. Wonder if the Death Star and Darth Vader will appear in Star Trek 12 ?
And thats my Opinion |

Given how popular Galaxy Quest was..and still is, I'm surprised it never got a sequel anyway.

Galaxy Quest is only popular now, kevin.
It did poorly at the box office cus of poor marketing. Which is probably the main reason for no sequel. |

At the time it's box-office was respectable if not spectacular. Plenty of films have done worse and gotten a franchise out of it.
