The nacelles sit too close to one another!!!! I hate it. The new "voyager-ish" movement (although done in the opposite direction) may help place them at the correct spacing while at warp. I hope to see a good pic of the new E while at warp.

I think the reason the neck looks like it is set too far back is because the secondary hull is so darn small. If you blot out the back half behind the neck and compare the new E to the old E, then the neck location looks fine when measured from the front. When you look at the entire ship the neck seems to be riding on the rear of the secondary hull!!

As much as you might expect me to defend it. I'm bringing the half of me in here that doesn't like it.
What's wrong with it? Well, put it this way, I don't call it the Abramsprise. I call it the J-Loprise. Let's admit it, even the people who are positive about this movie, this new Enterprise, she's got a huge, frikken @$$. Maybe that's what the other half of me likes about her. After all I am an @$$-man.

The secondary hull is where most of my reservations with the overall design lie.
In the toys and models the nacelles look too close together, yes, but then in the brief effects shots I've seen they don't look that way. However, the underside curvature of the secondary hull looks too elongated, but then again, it doesn't look that way on the toys and models. So, I have some issues, but overall not enough to disapprove of the changes.

The Enterprise-D did 'organic' really well. One of the main things I dislike about Church's design is that it appears to be reaching for a look the incorporates design elements from TOS, TMP and TNG, and to me they just don't work together.

yeah.... kinda need to drop the TNG since it isn't supposed to exist in the trek universe when the original crew does their thing.
IMO the nacelle movement in VOY for going to warp looked cool but i didn't see a point since probably every other ship before it never did that. |

Doesn't matter. First, because it's too late to redesign it to bring it into line, and second because they never intended it to fit.
