I am curious to see this movie. It looks interesting.
Also, did you know that there is going to be an animated web-series to support this new movie? It will be mature themed in nature (supposedly, some major characters actually get killed off). I loved the end of the teaser trailer: Some military guy: "What did you say your unit was called?" General Flint (I think): " I didn't!"

Yes, IIRC, the white ninja was named Storm Shadow.

I used to watch the cartoon when I was a kid. Some friends of mine are really fired up about Joe, Transformers and Wolverine so I'll probably end up seeing all the big blockbusters one way or the other, but there's only one movie on my radar at the moment. Something based on a 60's TV show or something, had a Canadian in the lead.

We were in the car with some of my frriends. tHey thought that the GI Joe Trailer looked cool, and they were going to go see it (Unlike Trek, they brought it up on their own). Then they saw the name...

I think they already did this movie... only they did it with puppets... "Team America: World Police." Only the G.I. Joe movie won't have the humor.

Well, the whole G.I Joe is obviously more an American character, so in the UK I'm a little less familiar.
So I can only go by the trailer - which does not impress me. So, not on my must-see list. If I catch it, I catch it.

The cartoon didn't mean squat to me. G.I. Joe meant something entirely different to me. When I was young G.I. Joe's were 12 inch tall action figures that wore accurate miniature U.S. Army, Navy and Marine uniforms and carried appropriate miniature military equipment. There was no Cobra, no high tech weapons, no tiny little weirdly dressed action figures I didn't recognize. Just great big soldier dolls that looked like real soldiers, and every one of them had a scar on their cheek, like a signature to show that they were a real G.I. Joe. So no, I probably won't be seeing this picture.
