this is absolutely and utterly pathetic...

Post Disappointment...

I sincerely hope that they do not put the advertising campaign on hold because of the "pushed back" release date. That wouldn't be fair to those of us who've been waiting for a very long time. I am glad that they will have more time to get it right, but i wish they'd have been a bit more honest with the release date. I'd have been happy with no release date at all on the teaser. "Under Construction" would have been just fine to avoid this disappointment.

So, since we're all thouroughly disappointed, perhaps they could come up with something exciting to tide us all over... A picture of the bridge, perhaps? Or maybe a "leaked" picture of Spock or Kirk? Something? Anything?

C'mon Paramount! Quit thinking like Ferengi! Let's look at what will make this film successful artistically and as part of the franchise, not about what will make you money. Some of the best films of all time were artistic masterpieces, not necessarily blockbusters.

I am confident, however, that Mr. Abrams will make us a great movie. Canon needn't be written in stone, that's what time travel and alternate timelines are for!

(OFF TOPIC: I maintain that Star Trek: Enterprise was just a holodeck simulation written by Riker and was not canon at all.)

Hey gang. It's going to be OK.

They have added time to take their time; unlike ST:TMP.

I can live with it... they been given more time to think about things vs. rushing and doing a sloppy job.

well, they'd better release a bunch of promos and crap for this film... that's the only way they're gonna generate interest for the movie

It would be nice if they released mini movies like Warner Bros did with Matrix Reloaded.

I guess this means I have a chance to reach Fleet Admiral before the movie comes out...
