Oh that's happened a lot, trust me! But those are movies that I knew I wanted to see. For movies that I'm on the fence about, I read as many different review sources that I can find and ask around to see what everyone says. If the majority opinion is good, then I may watch the movie. If it's bad, I probably won't bother. I might use RT but I don't use it as a sole source upon which to base my decision.

I have a feeling that the relatively low ratings on the RT community scale are due mostly in part to disgruntled canonistas rather than people who actually don't like the Star Trek franchise.

We have been getting a slight rise in 'concerned' canonistas in the past few days here again, as well. After literally weeks of optimism.

Lol that's because when they get quiet they feel isolated and tend to change their tone, some even reversing positions...and then like 2 or 3 come out and post their opinions and it pulls the rest back in again. As for reviews if you remember Blade Runner was panned and did poorly at the box office, It is one of my top 5 movies of all time to me. But I didnt come to appreciate it till much later. I nearly fell asleep in the theater sadly. It just didnt sell to mainstream and it also didnt have any sequal (so far). It is now hailed as a masterpiece in many circles and I tend to agree, but this is not how I want Trek to go.....

I want the theaters filled and the sheeple impressed with Trek so we get more more MORE! This is the most respect Trek has ever garnered and I want more for this franchise dammit!

Notice that many of these fan reviews came in before the movie premiered.

Well we'll all just have to be twice as optimistic from here on out to counter it!

Actually they are from sources that have seen the movie. They are not all globally recognized review sources, but its a start.

Just wanted to update a little. Star Trek still at 100%, out of 12 reviews, with 2 from Rotten Tomatoes so called "cream of the crop" reviewers. Looking good!!!
