I do not believe Gene would approve of the Re-boot. Reading The Making of Star Trek, and watching the First Season of the Next Generation, I believe We can see what Gene wanted. In Next Generation, he did not have a network breathing down his neck like he did during TOS. Also in the first season, Gene did not have a bar room fight.

Oh man, it's great! Especially TOS-R. I have to put it in "cinema" mode so ti will fill the screen. But it's still totally amazing to watch. And with a 200 watt 5.1 surround system, it's even better. I love it.

That's a nice set up, I don't have any of the Trek shows on DVD, been thinking of getting TOS and some DS9. I saw a little of TOS on a smaller plasma once, it really brought out the color which is lost in the broadcasts quite often. Especially in the crew quarters, that purple back light, the lightening scheme over all was amazing.

I have all three seasons of TOS on DVD. But I only have season 3 of TOS-R. I'll be getting the first two soon. But yeah, the sound quality and picture are both great on a plasma. The colors just jump out! It's amazing!

Thinking of getting a PS3 soon so I'll probably pick TOS up on Blu-ray. I think the Blu-ray edition is not the remastered, can't remember though.

I'll be getting TOS on Blu Ray sometime in the near future. Sadly, my set-up is nowhere near as good as Zim's... Oh well. TOS on Blu Ray!!!

The Blu Ray contains both the remastered effects and the originals.

Well at the same time, Gene received lots of criticism from Star Trek fans before TNG even began production. Fans had gone so far as to petition that TNG never be made to begin with. Among the original cast, Walter Koenig was particularly adamant about not wanting TNG to air. It really wasn't until the third season with "The Best of Both Worlds" that TNG really became more widely accepted.

Cool, I was just looking it up on amazon, it didn't say, but that's great it contains both.

Sadly, my setup is not nearly as good as Zim's either. We should have parties at his place, we could start with a sneak preview of Abram's new movie I think.
