Default Ex Astris Scientia

Look at the latest update on Ex Astris Scientia. I can no longer stand this guy...he seems to think he's the sole master of all Trek knowledge...I'll be enjoying the movie while he's crying over his precious canon!

He sees things before they happen evidently.

Well, he's entitled to his opinion - as are we all. Which makes ignoring him so simple!!

Yeah, the problem is I used to really enjoy his website, but his attitude in past articles about the movie and his lack of giving it a chance are a dealbreaker. No more EAS bookmark...

Whatever he thinks about the movie, is it right to flame him here?

Lots of fans have an assumed proprietry over Star Trek - like it's theirs alone. It's their business, but at the end of the day their praise or complaints carry no more weight than mine's (or anyone else's) do.

Everyone has their own thoughts.

Like I said, people who are this way have the entire TOS library on Dvd/Blue Ray. Next Gen, DS9, Voyager ect ect which they can enjoy to no end all by themselves in their basements. The rest of us can move forward into the future as Gene would have wanted.

Good point. I just find it very disappointing when someone can't be open-minded enough to give the movie a shot. Thankfully, there's less and less of them these days.

I would just like to point out this quote in a Bob Orci interview..

http://trekmovie.com/2008/12/11/bob-...-real-science/

Quote:
Bob: It is the reason why some things are different, but not everything is different. Not everything is inconsistent with what might have actually happened, in canon. Some of the things that seem that they are totally different, I will argue, once the film comes out, fall well within what could have been the non-time travel version of this move.
With this being said (from one of the writers of the movie) is that despite some of the changes brought on by the movie, it is the viewer's choice whether or not it is an alternate universe or not cause it can fit in both.
