I don't know if anyone has seen this in their local cinema, it might just be in the UK. But yesterday i went to see monsters VS aliens, which was quite a good film, and the last trailer was a paramount thing.

'Stay Tuned For 3 Massive Blockbusters Coming This Summer From Paramount'

1. Transformers (Superbowl Clip with some extra footage)

2. GI Joe (Superbowl Clip)

3. STAR TREK (2 Minute Trailer)

I would take this to mean that Paramount think they know they will rule the box office this year, and that Star Trek is going to be the biggy.

Again, it's a sign of how seriously Paramount is taking Star Trek as a major summer film. It's one of their biggest films of the year and they seriously believe it can do the business.

I'm going to the pics this weekend, but not to see Monsters vs Aliens - Hopefully I might see something similar.

Do you know, I've yet to see any of the trailers on an actual BIG screen!! I keep missing them and I go to the flicks a LOT!

Rarely does a studio's publicity department issue the statement: "Stay Tuned for three mediocre films coming this summer amid a downturned economy, but please watch anyway -- you might like one of them." Their job is to promote the films as positively as possible, and that's what this blurb does.

I think Paramount is highly confident they'll have a good summer, but do they "know" it for sure? No, I don't think anyone can. Always in motion is the future. But the outlook is very good now.

Oddly, I'm really pumped for only one of those movies on that list (obviously Trek). I enjoyed Transformers, but I don't feel as excited for the new one and I have a bad feeling about G.I. Joe...it doesn't resemble G.I. Joe at all.

I was kinda let down by Transformers I hope the second is good...G.I. Joe well that one is going to have to wait until the DVD comes out for me to see that one...Trek..well that one is a no-brainer.
