I just got the app. I will try to upload pics and sound soon, but for quick info to answer questions... the barrel DOES flip positions when going from stun to kill. Red barrel for kill mode and silver (grey) when on stun mode.

ooo and a red beam fires on kill mode, where stun fires a light blue beam.
