Could be. He did spend a little time on the D in "Unification". They should have thrown in a "1701-E" instead. First, it would NOT look like the "D" was an "O". Second, it would have been a nice tie-in to Countdown.

I'm guessing it's from the escape pod he lands in.

I'm also still not convinced it's a D since, when compared to the 0 they look almost the same in that shot.

It must be Kirk's. It must have carried his cold weather gear. The "D" does look similar to an "O", but it IS a "D". The left side corners are squared compared to the "O".

Nimoy-Spock was never on the 1701-D and Picard and Data were on a Klingon ship masquerading as Romulans.

I find it extremely hard to believe this is something that Nimoy-Spock could have brought back with him.

I think it's from the escape pod since it uses a similar stenciled typeface to the one on the escape pod itself.
