Since we have Bruce Greenwood starring as Captain Pike the greatest Starfleet Captain before Kirk, a spinoff series about Pike would be a fairly easy route to go. Personally I'd like to see more of Pikes adventures. How about you?

Same here, but I'd still like to see something new. New characters, new time period, new stories. You could get some of that with a show revolving around Pike especially if it were to take place in the new timeline as Omega said.

I'd prefer a set of TV movies or mini-series to a weekly show.

however, I think that once Abrams' movie hits, there will be no going back to the small screen.
it will make Trek too grand and spectacular.

I agree on the mini-series or TV movies but down the road Trek will return to the small screen, from whence it came.

perhaps, but it can't look like a TV show again.

maybe they'll wait to see how George Lucas' live action Star Wars series will be put together? he is promising a movie scale episode a week. that is pretty much what Trek will need, but as I said in a TV film or mini-series format, lest it lose the run of it self again.

But keep Kirk and Co. for the big screen.
