Accordig to IMDB, Roger C. Carmel was about 6.5" taller than Giamatti is, but I still think Giamatti's got the acting chops to be a physically imposing character by other means that height, and he's shown in past films he can slide between intimidation, brashness and comedic flair with ease.

I don't know if they'd get Paul to do it, but he'd make a very interesting Mudd and I'd enjoy seeing his interpretation of the character. Giamatti with a Mudd moustache... awesome!

Kristen Bell should play Chapel, not Rand. Any Heroes fan out there would agree. She and Quinto have chemistry.

That right there should put her in the Rand role....Chapel and Spock never had chemistry, just uncomfortable silences and weirdness...Rand, like Uhura, was comfortable with Spock. She didn't hesitate to call on him for help in The Naked Time and when she thought she was being attacked by Kirk in The Enemy Within, she called out for the guy in the hall to "get Mr. Spock"...(not "help me" or "call security" but "get Mr. Spock")

I disagree. I thought Spock and Chapel had real potential. Had the series lasted longer it may have blossomed into something. Especially when his next 7 years was up.

Rand was Kirk's girl. She felt comfortable around Spock but she was most definately Kirk's girl. They should hire someone who has chemisty with Chris Pine for that role.

Bell and Quinto work great together.

Chapel Bell. Chapel Bell. Doesn't that sound nice. It's destiny.
