Aye, I'd not considered that.

But then again, some actresses do undergo some body training to suit certain roles, even if it's for something that calls simply for a physical enhancement....such as making Emma look a little more robust.

I don't think they need famous actors to play these characters, nor do they need actors who are physically identical to the originals. What they need to do is bring the characters up to date so that Chapel isn't just a bland background character handing out hyposprays. She was a biologist and yet still only got to assist McCoy in his research by handing him slides and mopping his brow.

Rand will be the easiest and most fun to update. Make her a security specialist and martial arts expert in addition to be Kirk's yeoman and trusty side-kick and she should be able to take her rightful place as the principal female lead.
