I agree Zim...I know this sounds bad but I hope that he just makes it to a "wheelchair".

It's already implied his head will be on one.
Pike is also a fish...are you suggesting he should be gutted and fried with lemon and garlic?

He shouldn't...but remember anything is possible in the Abramsverse.

Um, do you guys know what it really means to be "impaled"?? The stick doesn't do in your neck, at least not until it's travelled a while....

Yes and I get the shivers everytime I see documentaries on Vlad the Impaler. What a gruesome way to go!

There should be a delta radiation leak (or something new) at some point in the film and that causes him to be like he was in TOS.

Chris Pike should not die. Heck, if the timeline is changing let him live and make Commodore.

Unlikely, I know.

I don't want to see him die - I doubt he will - there is a chance we will see him paralized, like we see him in The Menagerie - I have a feeling he is going to be a great character in this new movie, a mentor to Kirk and crew.

No one has confirmed that he dies or not...just that "we have no captain". That could mean anything...

My hope is that he doesn't die, and somehow gets to be the wheelchair bound invalid that we all have come to know and love. It would be SO easy to do, and would be (IMO) the biggest nod toward TOS that they could do in this film.
