Has anyone heard about this being the title to the new movie? I read this on another site.

Im sure with the movie just over a month away and with all the official posters coming out without "the beginning" on it, its either one big secret and just appears in the opening credits or its not really the title. But Im sure by now we'd have heard more on this.

As far as I heard "Star Trek The Beginning" is the title in Asia.
For the rest of the world it is just "Star Trek".

I think this was the title of the first draft involving the Earth-Romulan War for the eleventh movie.

No not heard anything about it. The posters are all out now etc. They just say Star Trek.

Star Trek: The Beginning was Rick Berman's last pitch as head of the Star Trek franchise as a post-ENT feature film. It made it all the way to a completed script by Band of Brothers scribe Erik Jendresen before the 2006 shakeup and regime change at Paramount. At last report, the script is currently lining a birdcage somewhere on the Paramount lot...

But in Japan and some other Asian countries, the titles or subtitles for various Star Trek movies (and even television episodes) have frequently differed dramatically from the original version, so it's not surprising the new movie would be called The Beginning in some places of the world...
