Where is it? I mean, with this being a J.J. Abrams movie, I would think the viral marketing would be all over the place. What does everyone think? Will they do a lot of viral marketing like they did with Cloverfield?

This movie doesn't need that much marketing. It's like marketing air. EVERYBODY wants it. EVERYBODY needs it. No need to market it that much.

The whole marketing thing has been dismal from the get go.

I'll give it one more week before I start wondering when the shock & awe is going to start. Maybe when you're trying to attract non-fans to a movie, you don't want to give them too long to think about it? Just hit them with some good ads for a week or two before opening.
After all, we fans have done a good job of keeping ourselves happy without too much in the way of attention from Paramount (Except this place, of course!)

TV Ads are starting to ramp up. I've seen several this week. Mostly the Superbowl cut I believe.

Star Trek doesn't really do viral anyway... it just has a different feel to it. Star Trek is on a totally different scale of movie than any of his other movies... it just seems too big (not popularity, but scope of the movie and the overall feel) to do viral. Cloverfield was a close to home kind of movie with a mystery twist. But Star Trek is gonna take us to a whole other world i think thats what they are trying to show with the advertising.

I'd say that within a couple weeks, a HUGE marketing push will begin. I look forward to seeing non-Trekkie reactions.

Yeah, I wouldn't say marketing has been dismal. Perhaps outside the US that might be true, but in the US Paramount has done more to market this Trek film than they have in a long, long time.

NO marketing here in Germany. Absolutely nowhere and nothing.
