Could the scene of Kirk and Scotty (in the tube) actually take place here rather than on the E? It looks very similar.

It would seem to fit Delta Vega better than the E, but then presumably Trekmovie had sources that were accurate when they identify it as the Enterprise.

In a much earlier thread I speculated that old Spock would turn up at the Academy and pay a visit to his younger self an inform him of Nero's plans. That may be happening here. Young Spock probably thinks Old Spock is a visiting Vulcan.
