To any of his fans who haven't seen much of Scheider's work, I highly recommend viewing MARATHON MAN, THE FRENCH CONNECTION and of course JAWS is must-viewing for an ocean of reasons.

Mr. Scheider was not only a fine actor but also strong social activist and an opponent of the Irak war. Maybe in the Trek world he could have been a Maquis leader.
