Ask again in 13 years...but for all we know, though, this Enterprise could be on its very first mission fresh out of the yards in this movie.

That doesn't mean separate and concurrent. BIG difference. The events of the "alternate timeline" could even be restored at the end of the film. |

Why would they restore the timeline at the end of the movie? That would erase all of the events of the movie, thus negating it. We'd be back to scratch with another reboot having to explain how the crew got together again for the next movie. The timeline can't change due to the new events now established in it. The next movie follows in the new established timeline. Partial restoration... now that's a whole other issue...

[quote=NCC-73515;166200]Ok, I'm sorry... Let me try again! I said "if" then went on to stress that if in reference to the art of the poster in question, ok!? I am well aware of the Star Trek II poster art which is actually part of what I had in mind saying IF this art is correct. I'll refrain in the future from any speculative inferences in my posts. Whenever I read responses like this of which this is the first I've read to one of my posts it just...I just remember one of my favorite lines from a Star Trek movie: "I don't know...I just don't know"

If it follows the pattern of other films, then the Bridge etc will probably get a spruce up for a sequel. Whether they call it a 'refit' - anyone's guess!

The exterior will probably remain the same with minor tweaks since it is CGI. The interiors, like just about any other sequel, will probably undergo significant changes because of struck sets that have to be rebuilt and real-world items ( like Symbol M2000 barcode scanners ) that may no longer be available to kit-bash into props. It is amazing how struck sets will get banged up or worn down after sitting in a warehouse for a few years. Expect the next film, if there is one, to have only minor changes to Enterprise but all bets are off for future films.
