Great short lived series... any fans who'd welcome a remake?

On checking IMDB.com I see they tried to back in 2002, but never aired it. I wonder why?

I'm really thinking that if they remade that show today, it wouldn't resemble the original in the least...therefore they could call it whatever they want.

If they wanted to remake Time Tunnel" they should read James P. Hogan's "The Proteus Operation" to see how it could be done right.

#1. Decide if events can be changed or not. (this always bothered me about the series... it kept going back and forth.)

#2. Set parameters on what the tunnel can, and can't do.

#3. Make sure Lee Merriwether's character turns knobs and flips switches as sexily as the original.

Could they find anyone as sexy as her? She was definitely my favorite Catwoman of all time.

This show was a fav of mine but it was really limited in the variety of episodes. I mean: Doug & Tony fall out of the sky and then they stumble around trying to find our where/when they've arrived. They discover a problem and attempt to fix it. Then, the folks at Tic-Toc save them from peril and they try it all over again.

The 1st show featuring the Titanic and the Pearl Harbor episode where Tony is reunited with his father were very good.

If they are going to do a remake keep the tunnel design, a Lee Merriweather-type in high heels and an actor with a funny name like Whit Bissel.

I vaguely remember watching this series as a kid (in French, no less) so thanks for refreshing my memory. But can you say "Quantum Leap"? No need to do a remake of it in a series then, but I suppose a movie could be done with the right script and the right director.
