ROFL! Those pipes make me steamed too! Though it could very well be Scotty's place on Delta Vega. But then why would he be stuck in a water pipe? Dehydration after downing a load of scotch?

ok, im faithful to ST, im willing to watch it and give it a chance, but comeon guys.
we all know then original captain to Enterprise wasnt even kirk.
and they want to start this off like he was and they all knew each other from the academy and that isnt true also.so in other words. they are just bringing it back and adding stuff to it to get the new genarations invoved. but all of us who are die hard no the real story behin star trek..no need to get bent outta shape about it. just go with the flow.even if it is all highly illogical.

Well, we've seen the scene where Scotty is saying he likes "this starship, it's exciting". He looks pretty soaked in that scene. That makes me think that scene is shortly after he gets out of those pipes...ON the ship!!! That set has to be the stupidest thing about this movie so far!!! Lower decks or not, if this set is supposed to be on the Enterprise, it's totally dumb.

Am i the only one who thinks that the ""Slap stick" sense of humour JJ is bringing will ruin the movie? I mean Chekov's wessels is a nice touch, but beestung Kirk and Scotty the Dolphin is hardly funny for me

If you look at old detailed cut away posters of the original Enterprise in certain sections of the ship you can see water tanks with piping.

Well, maybe you are right. I mean we never saw toilets on the Enterprise, but it exists doesn't it? Perhaps we are so attached to seeing slick Engineering rooms in TNG, the idea of water pipes and Sewage pipes on the E make us gag!
