Default Your favorite song

Think as hard as you possibly can, and try to find your one absolute favorite song.

For me:

The Doors- The End

EDIT (since we're posting links and lyrics )

Live version (he does the song it differently from the studio version every time): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHFK1yKfiGo and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7ZucE_olEs (Language warning. And when I say language I mean LANGUAGE. But it's not done distastefully. It's honest-to-goodness an amazing piece)

This is the end
beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes
Again

Can you picture what we’ll be,
So limitless and free?
Desperately in need
Of some stranger’s hand
In a desperate land

Lost in a Roman
Wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There’s danger on the edge of town
Ride the king’s highway
Weird scenes inside the goldmine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake
Ride the snake
To the lake
The ancient lake, baby
The snake he’s long
Seven miles
Ride the snake
He’s old
And his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we’ll do the rest

Da blue bus is calling us
The blue bus is calling us
Driver where you takin’ us?

The killer awoke before dawn
He put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery and he
Walked on down the hall
And he went into the room where his sister lived
And… then he… paid a visit to his brother, and then he…
He walked on down the hall, yeah
And he came to a door
And he looked inside
Father?
“Yes son?”
I want to kill you…
Mother? I want to… **** you all night yeah,
Come on, yeah

Come on baby, take a chance with us
Come on baby, take a chance with us
Come on baby, take a chance with us and
Meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
On the blue bus <- on "a" blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
Come on, yeah

****, **** yeah
****, ****, **** **** **** yeah
Come on baby,
**** me baby, **** yeah
Hey, **** ****
****… yeah
**** me, yeah
Come on baby, **** me baby
**** ****, whoah, whoah yeah
Yeah, **** yeah,
Come on, huh huh huh yeah,
All right…

Kill… kill… kill… kill… kill… kill… kill

This is the end
you gentle friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter
And soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end

Oh, way too many to mention, really would just have to go on a 'today's favourite' kind of approach -

Either: The Connell's with 74-75, or Crash Test Dummies with 'Afternoons and Coffeespoons'.

Actually, probably Crash Test Dummies.

Absolute favorite, impossible to say but I've long thought I may want Fearless by Pink Floyd played at my funeral-

'You say that the hill's too steep to climb,
Climb it.
You say that you'd like to see me try
Climbing.
You pick the place and I'll choose the time
And I'll climb
That hill in my own way.
Just wait awhile for the right day.
And as I rise above the treeline and the clouds
I look down and hear the sounds of the things
You've said today.'

Love that song! Perhaps because in my life I've been so shy and fearful. Though long ago I learned to (perhaps over-)compensate for it. Some say I'm bold and brash and I guess I do act and seem that way, but deep inside...

I know, cry me a river

It's all good. It's alright!

At the risk of revealing my bad music taste and after skipping German stuff no one here knows, I'd say stuff from the early KRS-One like My Philosophy or Step into a World or something like Year of tha Boomerang from Rage against the Machine. I freaked out when Tom Morello, god of the guitar, appeared in Good Shepherd.

For a funeral song I'd pick Parting Glass.

I have favorite songs from every genre', rock, pop, country, rhythym and blues, etc. but i think my absolute favorite song is from a James Bond 007 movie:

You only live twice,
Or so it seems.
One life for yourself,
And one for your dreams.

You drift through the years,
And life seems tame.
Til' one dream appears,
And love is it's name.

And love is a stranger,
Who'll beckon you on.
Don't think of the danger,
Or the stranger, is gone.

This dream is for you,
So pay the price.
Make one dream come true,
You only live twice.

I don't think I could pick JUST one song!

One of my favorites, since I was a kid, is "One" by Metallica. That song forever converted me to the "dark side"!! I wish I had long hair so I could head bang!!
