Another case of the production company trying something different. It is called being creative. The thing about creativity is, sometimes you get something good, and sometimes you don't.

For another perspective on the poster, think of fifteen years from now. You have on your wall several Trek movie posters, one of which (this one) is stylistically distinct from the others. You look at it with nostalgia, and reflect on how the willingness to try something different is sometimes a very good thing.

Not saying I like it or dislike it, just offering a different perspective.

Another thing I like about some trek fans is many of them are not passive consumers of entertainment. Good work.

On a side note, ntbone, that is pretty sweet looking poster you made yourself!
You are not alone my friend, I love it. Wow is right!
Trek's 'White Album' cover, love that characterization too, Livingston.

And props to ntbone!

Exciting times for Trekkers!

I've never felt more lucky to be a Star Trek fan at this time in history. Think of all the fans that would have loved to see the exciting new creativity being put in to Trek, but are no longer with us.

Movie looks good, but........poster looks bad. In all seriousness though, I thought this movie is supposed to be geared toward people who aren't familiar with Star Trek. That being the case, then what does this poster say about the film? It says absolutely nothing, and the picture is distored, so a lot of people may not even know that's supposed to be a "jazzed up" picture of the Enterprise in flight. Can somebody please tell me how in the world that can beckon people to buy tickets? Sorry folks, but Paramount dropped the ball on this one, and I SINCERELY believe this problem needs to be corrected ASAP before that thing finds it's way to an official movie advertisement.

I think it looks kinda cool. Not great, but kinda cool.
Rather reminds me of something out of a dream...
