Oh wow. I can truly say that for me, (and trust me, this is hard to admit) I love this finale more than the MASH finale. I know it could catch some flak for this, but it's true for me.
When Laura died in the Raptor on Earth I started balling my eyes out. Then when Bill's sitting next to her grave, and just talking to her... too good for words. I'll admit, this made a guy who rarely cries ball his eyes out.

It was a great finale, bittersweet but satisfying. Of all the science fiction shows I've loved Galactica just may have been the most human. It'll never supplant Star Trek in my heart but its been a wonderful series in every sense of the word. Its a great time to be a sci-fi fan. Thanks to my DVR I'll be rewatching the final three hours soon, maybe sometime this weekend.

I never watched it. How many years was it on? I may check it out to see what I missed. I am also thinking of Babylon Five. My Brother in Law keeps telling me it is worth the watch. If it makes a grown man bawl, I must check it out I did bawl like a 12 year old when Spock died.

Both series are well worth any time and effort.

B5 doesn't really kick in to full gear until the second season IMO but first season is pretty good. Because the show was written to have a beginning, middle and an end like a novel, the first season, though weak (comparatively speaking), is important and sets up characters and plot points that pay off very nicely in later seasons.

Galactica- just watch it. You're in for a treat.

Loved the whole series, beginning to end. Galactica will be sorely missed.
