Your Assessment has merit, however, assumptions would not be pertinent at this juncture.

It's Uhura hugging Spock.
Who wouldn't.

Maybe so. The most used emotional hook in the series was something horrible happening to Spock. For some reason this brought out feelings in the other characters that didn't occur with someone else was in trouble. Although I always liked Spock's reaction when he was worried about Kirk. McCoy was great at pointing it out.

Spock could be having that Seven Year itch, and needed someone.

I can't tell it looks more like she's hugging him to me from what i can tell he's releasing the embrace in the trialer and she's holding on.

I don't know why they're hugging, however I did notice that Spock seems to have an expression of shock or relief. I can't tell which. In any case, the clip suggests that it's Spock who is being given the hug; not the other way around.

I agree with those who say it's Uhura doing the hugging, not Spock. It is only... logical.

I agree... It could be because vulcan is destroyed or because Capt. Pike has been killed, but I thank the look is one of resolve, he has made a desicion about something important maybe imbracing his vulcan side and letting go of emtion. IMHO

Indeed.
Yet Spock's percieved behavior is divergent.
