Default Worried about the ice planet

Now that we are reaching the near end of the road for the wait, i am worried.

I still have no idea, how in god's name could Spock abandon Kirk on the ice planet without thinking what would happen to him. No one could make such a decision! Its worse than the idea that Kirk takes control of the Enterprise!

still its inhuman to just shove Kirk on a planet in a escape pod. One, with giant aliens which could eat Kirk.

I found this plot device to be a little shakey also.

Usually if someone is being insubordinate, you throw them in the brig.

You don't jettison them of to some frozen death trap.

Noone in Starfleet as I know it would ever do such a thing.

Here's my theory. Kirk gets a bit uppity and Spock doesn't have his emotions in control like he should. He gets a bit jealous and throws Kirk off the ship. The transporters aren't working for whatever reason so he throws Kirk in an escape pod and books it to Vulcan. He is, however, aware that there is a Starfleet outpost (the one Scotty is occupying) on the planet, and its probably the closest one to the Enterprise at the time.

I guess Spock didn't plan to maroon him there... buried alive, buried alive...
So will Pine scream SPOOOOOOCKKKK!!!!!!?
It could be a simple navigation error.

Spock thought it was a logical decision to kill Gary Mitchell so maybe it was logical for him to think that as long as kirk is on the Enterprise he is a threat.

Saq, I think there were rumors (leaks?) that Spock is the one that "banished" Kirk off the Enterprise. I can't remember where I read the same thing.

I too was a bit worried that this supposed story development (plot device?) was a a bitt out out there. But I will reserve judgement until after I have seen the movie and watch for myself, the explanation for all this crazy behavior!!
