There's nothing to indicate that the Kirk baby was not born in Iowa and travelled into space, presumably the family is heading for Tarsus IV when the Kelvin is attacked.

Okay here goes. My theory is he wants to collect the dicalithium return to his time before the destruction of Romulus and stop it and then destroy Vulcan as revenge for them not getting involved. Hes not pissed at Spock per say as he is all of Vulcan.

I was born in Bathesda Maryland Navel Hospital, but grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland is my home.

Omegaman is right. This is a trailer. A bunch of scenes put together so Kirk's birth is not necessarily associated with the Kelvin.

According to...

Kirk wasn't on Tarsus IV until he was a teenager.

Than he may have been on another planet before that in this timeline.

I think you're getting a misimpression from the way the trailer is edited, and that actual events may not bear out that result. We'll see though.
