Default I don't care what canonites say. This is going to ROCK

This is a COMPLETE reboot of Star Trek.

When Nero says, "Jim Kirk was a great man, but that was another life."

That let me know...the Old Star Trek is HISTORY quite literally.

Welcome to the NEW Star Trek, friends. I'm VERY excited after seeing this last trailer.

This is going to be EPIC.

Star Trek is DEFINITELY back.

I didn't need the trailer to get me lit - but glad you're charged.

"The Great Jim Kirk"...

It seems to confirm my perspective that what we see will not resemble Kirk at all. I agree it will be another life.

Star Trek never left.

Only the people who made it did.

And the "real" timeline still exists, even with the advent of the Abramsverse.

This new Trek only exists in the timeline created in the movie. It has a long way to go for it to become bigger than what has preceded it.

Sorry.

Star Wars-like....not necessarily full on Star Wars.

And yeah, I agree with Jtrek79. Of course, that's what you'll get from a fence rider like me.
