Kirk & Uhura?
In all the previews I've seen so far, there appears to be some sort of romance between Kirk and Uhura... and I'm confuzzled. Kirk and Uhura never really flirted with each other, besides the Plato's Stepchildren kiss, and that wasn't really their thing. If I'd seen Uhura getting together with anyone, I would have thought Spock or Scotty, since those are the guys I've seen her flirt with.
A Kirk/Uhura romance could be interesting, I'm not necessarily upset about it, but I was just curious what everyone else thought about it.

There isn't a romance that I know of. If you are talking about the shot of him on top of the girl.. she's green

Well, that would make a difference! LOL. I did wonder though, after seeing a shot of them grinning significantly @ each other. When Kirk grins at a girl, I wonder things...

I'm sure I saw them grinning at each other in the Superbowl trailer for the movie...maybe I'm guessing to much from it, but as I said, with Kirk, you never know!

They have seemed to plant that insinuation into the trailers. It was no accident that shots of Uhura taking off her bra were placed so close to a shot of Kirk with some girl you couldn't identify. When I first saw it, I thought, "is that Uhura!" I must agree with Triggerman though, it's an Orion and there is some rumor that it is Uhura's room mate and then there's the shot of Kirk seemingly spying on Uhura undressing. Could be anyone. We don't know the context of the shots. It's done in trailers all the time.
What's the big rock falling near the end of the trailer? Looks kinda like a statue or something. Have no idea, don't know what it means with the context of the story or where it fits in but it looks cool, it says ACTION which is what the trailer needs, just as the shots of Uhura say SEX which it also needs. Never seen that combination in an advertising campaign!

that's pretty much what I got out of it too. At any rate, I'll be curious to see what actually turns out happening in the movie. If that is true that Uhura has an Orion roommate, that's pretty amusing, and I'm sure the male audience will be delighted!
