I don't think the back of the novel really spoiled anything....sounds like everything we already knew!

I am glad the novel is coming out after the movie. Often with Trek movies the books are available before the movie comes out. Being an avid reader, I've had to fight to not spoil the movie for myself (although I believe I cheated on "Generations")!
