New thread, same story. I know this is going to sound like I am beating a dead horse but there is nothing wrong with the design of the new ENTERPRISE.(not the "Abrams-prise or other dorky monikers) Just because it is not a re-creation of the Matt Jefferies 60's Enterprise centimeter by centimeter, does not mean it has not retained the overall look of the designs past. Does it really matter if the pylons are further back on the main hull? Not Really, no. Does it really matter that the nacelles do not look like lit cigarettes anymore? Actually they look better now, lots of curves and symetry. (Unlike the static look in the 60's. A discarded couple of paper towel rolls would have sufficed.) To me and many others this new Enterprise is sleek and sturdy looking, with a powerful and elegant flair. So while the so called "canonistas" sit around whining about how their beloved Enterprise is now bastardized and how their paltry lives are now ruined forever...The rest of us are going to have a grand adventure to enjoy.

Thats a totally different story. James Cameron went into that movie saying he wanted the Titanic to be as accurate as possible. Abrams made no such guarantees. This is HIS vision of the future, not yours. Deal with it. In fact, dont watch it because you will be whining the whole time...
