Default Abrams interview with German newspaper

Just found an interview in the "Frankfurter Rundschau".
I'll translate the important parts for you. It's from Feb 3rd.

Update: here is my exclusive translation of the important part (the rest is what we already know).

Q: What was missing in the other Star Trek movies?
JJA: The characters were established, they had their history, which the viewer didn't know. But I can only feel connected to these people and develop sympathy for them when I know the backgrounds of their relationships, how they started. It's this basic level that I want to show now. Character development is important to me. And the viewer should get an impression of what it means to be in Starfleet. That's something great! That's cool!
[...]
I don't want to reinvent the concept [of TOS], but continue what began in the 60s.

And since TM deletes my comments, they'll never get this.

Who is TM?

Could you please, if you have the time, translate the rest of the article? I can't do it while I'm here at work.

The rest is what he said in other interviews before... that he wanted to make his own vision of Trek, that he was never a Trekkie, how he met Nimoy and wanted to give him instructions, before realizing that he IS Spock and created the character, how friendly Nimoy was, that the humor doesn't contradict what's been done before, because TOS also had funny scenes, that he didn't primarily make it for the fans, but that he wants to recruit new fans.

The spoiler or the interview? I mean, the spoiler is months old (from the 20 min press preview reports)...
