Indeed. The Epsilon 9 technician reports that V'ger's cloud is "over 82 AUs in diameter". One AU (Astronomical Unit) is the distance from the Earth to the sun, or 150 million kilometres. Overall, V'ger and its surrounding energy cloud are about the size of a solar system...

That was adjusted in the Directors Edition to "Over 2 AUs in diamater"

Ship reminds me of the Chimeran battleships in Resistance 2. Or, as The Saint responded, a giant, deadly clump of kelp.

I thought V'ger emitted such unbelievable power it would take thousands of starships to try to attain the same amount. Or so commander Decker said.

I wonder just how powerful the whale probe was then which was almost as big as V'ger.
