Love it or hate it, looks like Tobias is now going to take on a more controversial work in progress over at Scifi-Meshes.com with the ''new'' ''old'' Enterprise. He's just getting started but here's a little teaser...

I think this guy is fantastic. What a lovely clean mesh. Beats my hard surface modelling.

Hey I know you.

Anyway, I was the one who started the shrine--er--thread for the Kelvin here.

Hope to see your full-on ''movie'' soon.

I'm currently working on something for Tobias in my free time. Quite a challenge it is too.

A few more images of Tobias' work in progress to fire the imagination. I highly recommend joining the Scifi-Meshes.com forums. There is a lot of incredible work going on over there besides this, including a lot of original artwork.

This is going to be a much harder job as there is far less visual material available to go on, unlike the Kelvin, which we've seen a lot of so far. Among the many resources Tobias is referencing are the high resolution images of the new toy models, which are akin to ''Bigfoot'' photos as far as proportions and accuracy go...but...with the right amount of imagination and talent, this should be fascinating to watch develop.

Very smooth.
I'm more than a little jealous.

Yes, that does look very nice! The details on the bridge are fantastic. This looks like a space ship someone would actually build, not some flashy ship that looks good on film. We need more of that in our scifi movies these days.
