What a strong first issue.
Can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

Interesting that Nero and Spock are friendly here.
It will be interesting to chart Nero's motivations.

I'm not really expecting much plot-wise to be delivered.
This is a lead-in, which, should anything truly important to the movie be revealed would also by necessity need to be revealed in the movie itself as either dialog, flashback or some other method of delivering the information.

I'm looking at it in the same manner I would in a novelization. An expansion on something relevant to what is coming up (or scenes cut for time in a movie), but not necessarily important to grasp the movie itself.

I agree, but see it more of as an expansion to an expansion (does that make sense?). I always read the novelizations of the movies (always after I see the movie), but they just give you a little bit. I see these comics giving us a lot more. Then again, seeing how comics are so short, it would probably only take two chapters in an actual book to cover all four comics.

I just ordered #1 and pre-ordered the rest from the TFAW web-site (Things From Another World).

They'll give a discount on bags and backboards too!

I got mine as a subscription with IDW's own site. They come bagged and boarded, and I've had it for a couple of weeks.

I'm not a Comic Book guy, but I like where they're taking the story so far.

Default Captain Data?

I picked it up on the release date as well and thought it was great, I can't wait for the remaining issues!

My main curiosity is regarding Captain Data!? or captain B4? But I like the new uniforms.

Again what excites me about the new movie and what the comic has only added to that is we will get a glimpse of three different eras, post Nemesis, pre TOS, and the TOS era. I always love ever expanding timeline.

I'm not a comic guy either, but had to get it to quench the thirst....

I am hoping they explain the "Captain Data" line...obviously it was set up to shock us! Also, where is Picard? We know we're going to see him because the 3rd cover features him. I just realized that cover shows him with the pips on the collar..interesting...

The uniform looks like the ones from Star Trek Online: http://uploads.startrekonline.com/screen_sto_006.jpg

This is the best online comic book store I have ever found. I subscribe to quite a few comics thru them and am very impressed with their services
