What the producers and creators should have done is instead of making a Prequel Series, they should have made the new series set even further in the future, aboard one of the Time Ships. Maybe even the Enterprise-J...

The cool part about that is that Scott Bakula still could have been cast as the captain. Hmmm, him time traveling in to the past to put things right that once went wrong. Where have I heard that before?

One could argue that since TOS's "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" that all Trek has taken place in alternate timeline.

I liked a good bit of Enterprise, but felt that moving forward would have been more exciting than going backwards and trying to make it fit. Could have even had Sisko pop back up 250 years in the future after his time w/the Prophets!

I think it would make for a great mini-series, when the franchise is back on it's feet again. We don't see much of that realm, and it looks so cool and backwards.
