Default From Those Who Have Been Involved With Trek XI

There is a very interesting thread going on now at Trek BBS. One of the posters is a member at the Replica Prop Forums, where apparently many industry professionals (including some who have had involvement with Trek XI) also have memberships. For example, the poster at Trek BBS said one of the Replica Prop forum members works for the prop house that supplied Trek XI's props.

He had this to say:
Quote:
There's been a running discussion in the locked Off Topic forum about the movie, and there have been a few interesting posts by insiders; for anyone here who has an RPF account, this is the thread. But I thought I'd grab some of the comments that seemed interesting and present them here for us to freak out o...discuss.
Here's the thread at Trek BBS so you can read some of the comments, if you're of a mind:

Regarding the image, the primary and secondary hulls look alright, but the nacelles have been way, way, way oversized. They don't look anything like that big even in the stills or the trailer.

Holy crap!!!! That looks like what happens when a male spaceship sees a female spaceship.

It's just the wide caps that make the nacelle seem so thick.
I wonder if this is the real design from the movie...
For those who wanna see the pic without clicking links and reading stuff:

This

is the final product for the film. This is the socalled "Abramsprise". The nacelles aren't freekishly huge.

At most, that drawing is an artist's first rendering. And actually it's the other way around. It's not a male spaceship:

Although this isn't the final product for the movie, it would seem comically fitting in a way. Kirk has an obvious libito, and he's also said to be married to the ship. This picture would mean that Kirk's an @$$man.

I think the nacelles have the same size in the drawing and the photo.
