That's okay because the canon has said nothing on why ar all.
It explains why Kira could take the risk of warping up to the Bajoran sun to stop the runnabout. and why sometimes it doesn't work.

One thing is for sure...I think Klingon ships are prone to the same filed snag because we've seen them do just about everything they want to around a sun. Then a gain we can assume their drives are far less powerful as they aren't better than warp 8

I believe the Enterprise also warped from orbit around Nimbus III to avoid the Klingon torpedo in STV.

Perhaps Klingon engines are safer than originally let on.....thus, why they made such a beautiful jump right out of Earth's atmosphere in Star Trek IV: Save the Whales.

(Of course, they did have Scotty.)

Default It's only my opinion but...

...Zefram Cochrane did it!
...Archer did it!

and canon is completely irrelevant for the alternate timeline...

It could be that it's safe to go to a "low" warp speed near a planet, but it is not safe to go to "high" warp while in a planetary system or near a large gravity field. That's just an idea to make things fit together.

I don't believe stuff in the trailers is considered canon anyway.

LOL, how many times have we seen ships go to warp while inside a solar system? Like...in every episode and movie? Silly thread.
